Hi, I own an Audi R8 with black Nappa leather seats. The colour is fine and the seats are in good condition, however the drivers bolster is shiny due to wear getting in and out of the car. What can I use on the bolster to make it dull like the rest of the seat. Thanks

COLOURLOCK UK replied on 2020-06-16 10:51:36 :

Hi Steve,We recommend to clean the leather first with our Mild Leather Cleaner and Leather Cleaning Brush, then degrease the leather thoroughly with our Leather Cleaning Spirit, and finally apply our Leather Shield if the leather is less then two years old, or apply the Leather Protector if the leather is over two years old. Best regards.

I have a porsche macan with a Leather Package in Black/Mohiave Beige is this the proper product?

COLOURLOCK UK replied on 2020-01-22 10:54:33 :

It depends on how old is the car. For cars less than two years old, this is the correct kit. If the car is over two years old, we recommend to get the COLOURLOCK LEATHER CLEANING & CONDITIONING KIT, which contains the Leather Protector instead of the Leather Shield. I have just got a Seat Leon FR Sport with leather seats, which kit do i need to clean and protect.

COLOURLOCK UK replied on 2019-02-26 12:56:01 :

Hi Andy,New leather within the first three years should be protected with COLOURLOCK Leather Shield. New leather doesnt need any re-greasing oils or any other kind of treatment, as its still fully protected by the tanning process. Common problems with new leathers arise due to general wear and dye transfer from clothing which penetrates into the leather colouration. The drivers seat especially the side bolster is mostly affected by signs of wear after a few years and develops scuff marks . Light coloured leathers are more often discoloured by denim stains or dye transfer from other clothing. Leather Shield prevents these happening. We recommend protecting the contact areas on the driver's seat every three months and other contact areas every six to twelve months. Our Leather Shield Cleaning and Conditioning Kit-Leather Shield and Mild Leather Cleaner-will be perfect for the job. Best regards.

Hi I just purchased a new BMW 440i with the upgraded Merino leather in white. I continue to see cleaners/protective creams for Napa leather, but nobody mentions whether ok for Merino. Please advise. Thanks!

COLOURLOCK UK replied on 2019-01-24 10:31:56 :

Hi Nanette,Merino leather is BMW's highest quality leather and our cleaners and protectors works just as well on Merino leather as on Napa. For new leather we recommend to use our Leather Shield Cleaning and Conditioning KitCare Set for New Leather which contains our Mild Leather Cleaner and the Leather Shield. Damian asked on 2018-11-13 20:21:31:

Is this product suitable for use with new BMW Dakota leather in Coral Red? I notice that I'm getting dye coming out of the seat when I use a cleaning product... Thanks in advance

COLOURLOCK UK replied on 2018-11-14 13:32:01 :

Hi,Yes, this Kit is perfect for cleaning and maintaining new car leather. The colour should not be coming out even if the leather is brand new. I think you're using too strong cleaner. The Mild Leather Cleaner in this kit will clean the leather gently, then the Leather Shield will keep the new leather in its original condition. Best regards.

Hi, which is the best choice for a used leather seats, for soft leather in cream color?

COLOURLOCK UK replied on 2018-03-27 17:07:08 :

Hi,Leather Shield is good for new leather that is three years old or newer to protect it against traces of wear and abrasion, as well as discolouration from clothing dye transfer,Leather protector contains antioxidants, which stops the leather's decay, and its UV filters protect the surfaces from colour fading and will make them supple once more. For further assistance please email us some photos of your leather to info@colourlock.comBest Regards.
