I have a sofa which is 14 years old. It is tan aniline leather. It has discoloured with age which is fine but one of the cushions has started to develop small cracks. Would this product help nourish its suppleness back.

Hi, I have some newly upholstered dining room chairs covered in Anilin Cognac leather. Very soft and very porous - one drop of water sinks in and goes very dark. These chairs will be used daily. What can I use to give them some protection from staining without changing the softness? Thank you.

Hi Christina,There are two options. You can use our Aniline Cream, it will give a strong protection against stains, but will make the colour slightly darker. If you don't want that, the use our Aniline Protector Spray 400ml first, then the Waterproofing Spray information here:

Hi,I have a brand new Richa Buffalo leather jacket, what can I best use to protect it, Best regardsAd

COLOURLOCK UK replied on 2017-04-03 11:04:33 :

Hi Ad, this product is specific for very porous leathers. To find out if the leather is porous, rub a drop of water in a hidden area. If the water soaks in straight away then it is porous and we would recommend using aerosol products like the Aniline Protector Spray and the Waterproofing Spray as these won't stain very porous leather. If your leather is not porous, then the water will stay on the surface. Usually motorcycling gear is not porous as it has to be weather proof. Our best product for motorcycling garments is the COLOURLOCK Leder Fein Leather Care & Waterproofing Oil which will waterproof and keep the leather soft and supple!

Philip Edwards asked on 2017-02-13 10:53:38:

I am purchasing a chair covered in a chrome dyed, waxed aniline leather. The leather swatch shows it is very porous. Should I use the Waterproofing for nubuck, and then the aniline protector? If so what interval should I allow? Is it better to use several applications of the waterproofing on a new chair before moving onto a protector? Many thanks.

COLOURLOCK UK replied on 2017-02-13 12:57:05 :

Hi Philip, We recommend treating with the Aniline Protector first. This contains oils that prevent aniline leather from fading. As it has oils, it is best to wait around 15-20 mins before applying Waterproof Spray. Also, as the sofa is brand new one bottle of each should suffice. Hope this helps but please feel free to get in touch if you need anything else. - Colourlock Team
