Nick asked on 2020-06-19 00:28:34:

My black leather motorbike jacket has been hanging in the sun for a couple of years. Its still soft but faded on one side, could you recommend something to restore the colour back please.

COLOURLOCK UK replied on 2020-06-19 10:36:25 :

Hi Nick,If the leather has faded from the sun, you then probably need to touch up the colour with our Leather Fresh Dye, then use our Elephant leather preserver to protect and condition the leather. Can you please email us a photo to info@colourlock.com, and we'll reply with step by step instructions, and a link to a shopping cart with all the products necessary to complete the repair. Best regards.

Jim asked on 2020-02-28 14:04:51:

Hi. Would this European Museum formula be suitable to restore and protect my late grandfather's 1950's leather jacket? I would like to work on it myself, and after a bit of online research this seems like the right product, but I'm not sure. As I want to do the best I can I have uploaded some pictures so you could tell me what you would recommend?https://imgur.com/a/fLQLqIX

COLOURLOCK UK replied on 2020-02-28 17:06:18 :

Hi Jim,The white stains on the jacket looks like mildew. We recommend to use our our Leather and Fur Wash Kit to wash the jacket first, and the apply the Elephant leather preserver on the whole jacket. I will email you more information on the process right now. Best regards.

Bought some 2008 BMW leather seats and would like to know what products would be best to use to clean and protect them?

COLOURLOCK UK replied on 2019-06-04 11:56:04 :

For car leather, which is normally matt/dull, we recommend our Leather Cleaning & Conditioning kit. The kit contains our Mild Leather Cleaner, and our Leather Protector. Here is the link:https://www.colourlock.com/all-diy-products/kits/leather-cleaning-care-kit.htmlIf the leather is glossy, then you should clean the leather with our Mild Leather Cleaner, then protect it with the Elephant Leather Preserver. For more information, please send us an email to info@colourlock.com. Best regards.

Sasha asked on 2018-06-27 08:34:46:

Will this product darken light coloured leather? I am looking for a leather fat that I can use on light red leather boots without darkening them.

COLOURLOCK UK replied on 2018-06-27 18:44:38 :

Hi Sasha, it depends on the type of the leather. If its absorbent leather, it will darken it slightly, if not then it will give a glossy finish.

Frances asked on 2017-11-01 09:35:37:

We have a Stressless leather sofa - about 15 years old and I'm afraid we've just lived with it - haven't fed the leather or anything. It's developing very slight cracks very small and we want to start doing something now. Would the Elephant Leather Preserver be a good start to feed it? What about maybe hiding these very small, fine cracks? Thank you.

COLOURLOCK UK replied on 2017-11-01 11:21:30 :

Hi,To assist you in the best way possible, please can you email us some photos of your sofa to info@colourlock.com.We also need to know if your leather is porous or not. Please carry out a small test by rubbing a drop of water in a hidden area and see if the water penetrates the surface.Best Regards.

Kevin asked on 2017-03-31 18:51:12:

I have recently purchase some elephant hide boots, would this product be safe to use on them, and will it Waterproof them. How often should i apply it.Also what other product from your company should use also.Thank you Kevin

COLOURLOCK UK replied on 2017-03-31 19:05:33 :

Hi Kevin, you will need to first find out if the leather is porous by rubbing a drop of water in a hidden area. If the water soaks in straight away then it is porous and we would recommend using aerosol products like the Aniline Protector Spray and the Waterproofing Spray as these won't stain very porous leather. If your leather is not too porous water stays on the surface you can use the Elephant Leather Preserver or Aniline Cream to protect your boots. Thanks!

Stephen asked on 2017-03-01 15:34:47:

Hi. I have just bought this to apply to my shoes. Do I apply this before or after a colour creme?ThanksStephen

COLOURLOCK UK replied on 2017-03-01 15:43:31 :

Hi Stephen, I would recommend applying this a day after the colour creme. As we are not aware of which colour you are applying and the contents of the product, I would also advise testing in a hidden area to ensure all is ok before full application. Hope this helps.

Lammot DuPont asked on 2016-12-24 03:58:37:

Hello, I have a variety of old cars, is this product suitable? What is Nappa leather? Is this suitable for ALL car leathers?

COLOURLOCK UK replied on 2016-12-24 10:54:25 :

Dear Mr. Du Pont,Nappa leather is another word for smooth leather. Majority of car interiors have pigmented leather i.e they all have a heavy layer of colour on the surface to make them durable and long lasting. This product is ideal for old leather that needs to be softened. However, because it is a wax based product it leaves a glossy finish. If you want to matt finish we recommend Colourlock Leather Protector. We have included a link to the product below. https://www.colourlock.com/leather-protector-150-ml.html . Please send us some photos so we can recommend suitable products to clean and maintain your car interior. Best Regards,Colourlock Team
