Tsuyoshi Teitei asked on 2021-02-21 04:13:12:

Hi, is it necessary to sand the surface if it is already smooth? I have a bmw steering wheel which is still smooth and only needs some dye in sections of the wheel. I bought the Colourlock refresh kit and a leather conditioner kit but not the kit shown in the video. I don't want to sand the wheel if it is not necessary. If I have to what is the grade of the sanding pad?

COLOURLOCK UK replied on 2021-02-22 14:52:53 :

You only need to sand the leather if it feels rough to the touch. if the leather is smooth, you don't need to sand. We use a 1000 grit Sanding Pad for leather repairs. Best regards.

James asked on 2020-11-06 11:27:11:

My steering wheel is starting to shine up and feel slick. All the kit produce a matt non-slick finish.

COLOURLOCK UK replied on 2020-11-06 12:36:51 :

Yes, the products in the kit will produce a matt, non slick finish. However, the kit contains a product called the Elephant Leather Preserver, which is a care product for glossy steering wheels. If you prefer the matt finish, then do not apply the Elephant Leather preserver on the steering wheel. For more information, please send us an email to info@colourlock.com. Best regards.
